Status

Covered with conditions. Covered in core subjects and the arts; off-the-shelf curriculum can also be reimbursed.

Conditions

Programs of study, curriculum or supplemental materials in reading, language, mathematics, science, social studies or the arts, and curriculum or supplies for supplemental or elective courses. Goods are bought through TheoPay from approved websites; curriculum services through the closed Marketplace. Out-of-pocket purchases of off-the-shelf curriculum (lessons and academic content for a course, program or grade level, widely available and not customized) and non-live digital curriculum subscriptions can be reimbursed within 90 days.

Limits

Reasonable Cost and age tests. Lifetime subscriptions are excluded except lifetime digital curriculum subscriptions that save money (Board action, June 2026). Educational subscription boxes with food ingredients only with a lesson plan.

Documentation

TheoPay order or Marketplace order; for reimbursement, an itemized receipt showing the student's name, items, amounts and payment date, filed in the portal within 90 days.

Not allowed

Pre-K curriculum; customized materials bought out of pocket (not off-the-shelf); toys other than puzzles, molding clay, kinetic sand, educational board games or toys a physician or therapist recommends; live animals (insect kits excepted); purchases made before funds were available.
