Editorial policy

How every amount, deadline and provider claim on this site is sourced, verified, dated and corrected.

Source first

We start from the official source, not from other websites. Every amount, deadline, eligibility rule and payment instruction is stored once as a fact record. Each fact records its official source, the passage that supports it, and the date it was checked. Pages print facts from those records, so a change to one fact updates every page that uses it.

A fact that has not been checked against its official source is marked unverified. Pages that use an unverified fact are not published.

The verification stamp

Each guide shows four dates near the top:

  • Source checked: when we last compared the page with the official source.
  • Rule effective: when the rule described took effect, where that matters.
  • Published: when the page first appeared.
  • Updated: when the page last changed in substance.

If a page’s sources were last checked more than 120 days ago, it shows an out-of-date notice until it is checked again.

What the five evidence statuses mean

Whether a provider can be paid with program funds depends on the program, the product and the payment route. We record a status for each combination.

Confirmed
An official or provider source confirms this program, product and route.
Available via another route
Not available on this route, but a source confirms another route for the same program.
Conditional
A source confirms it only under stated conditions.
Not publicly confirmed
No public source found either way. This is not a statement that the provider is unavailable.
Explicitly unavailable
An official or provider source states it is not available.

“Not publicly confirmed” never means “unavailable”. It means we have not found a public source either way. Where a program allows reimbursement, we say so.

Neutrality on ESA policy

The site explains how programs work. It takes no position on whether education savings accounts or scholarship programs are good policy, and it does not campaign for or against them.

People, reviews and images

We do not publish invented people, reviews, testimonials, ratings, statistics or quotes. We do not use stock or generated images of identifiable children, or AI presenter avatars.

Corrections

When we get something wrong we fix it, update the page’s dates, and record the correction on the corrections page. Anyone can report an error.
