ClassWallet order pending: what to do (Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account, 2026–27)

Short answer for 2026–27

In Arizona's Empowerment Scholarship Account, a ClassWallet order that shows as pending ('Needs Approval') is waiting for review by the Arizona Department of Education, not by ClassWallet: an ESA specialist reviews each order, and only approved orders reach the vendor. The department does not publish a review time for families. The usual reasons for a hold or rejection are an incomplete invoice or receipt, an amount above the invoice total, or, for tutoring paid by card or reimbursement, a missing tutor credential or attestation form. Why orders show as pending

When you submit an order, ClassWallet sends you a confirmation email and the order shows as 'Needs Approval', which ClassWallet uses for orders that are pending, on hold or incomplete. ClassWallet does not decide: the Arizona Department of Education reviews each order, and the vendor cannot see it until it is approved. The reviewer can approve it, reject it, or mark it incomplete and ask you for more information. You get an email when the order is approved, rejected or reviewed, with any comments in the body. Funding schedule for context: Quarterly, through ClassWallet (From the 2025–26 Parent Handbook, the current edition. No 2026–27 edition was published as of October 8, 2026.)[source] Checked .

Frequently asked questions

How long does a pending order usually take?

The Arizona Department of Education does not publish a review time for family orders. Once an order is approved, ClassWallet says payments reach the provider's or your bank account within 2 to 10 business days. ADE tells vendors that if an order has not been approved within 14 days, they may need to contact the family for more information.

Will a pending order use up my balance?

ClassWallet says that if an order is rejected, all funds are credited back to your ClassWallet balance. Neither ClassWallet nor ADE publishes more detail on how a pending order shows in your balance, so check your Personal Transactions Report.
