Status

Covered with conditions. Educational devices covered; TVs, phones and game consoles are not.

Conditions

Computer hardware and technological devices primarily used for an educational purpose (statute). Listed: calculators, personal computers, laptops, tablet devices, microscopes, telescopes, printers. Educational headphones or earbuds are allowed but categorized as supplemental material. Students with a disability may also buy assistive technology as an associated good, with supporting documentation (HB pp. 29–30). ADE issues the ClassWallet debit card only to account holders who have a student with a disability and who opt in through the ESA parent portal (ADE ESA Support, 'ClassWallet Pre-Paid Debit Card', checked 2026-10-15).

Limits

No device-count or replacement-cycle limit is stated. General reasonableness factor: cost or quantity not greater than what meets the student's needs (HB p. 22).
