What is covered, conditions and how to pay

Status

Covered with conditions. General school supplies covered; from July 2026 families attest instead of curriculum.

Conditions

Items on the 'General education supplemental material' list (pp. 23–24). From July 1, 2026 (SET): no curriculum document is required; the family attests the items support the student's curriculum or course of study and answers a mandatory course-of-study question. Other supplemental items still need curriculum documentation. ADE may still ask for more information. ADE issues the ClassWallet debit card only to account holders who have a student with a disability and who opt in through the ESA parent portal (ADE ESA Support, 'ClassWallet Pre-Paid Debit Card', checked 2026-10-15).

Limits

Bookcase up to 40 sq. ft.; desk for up to two people; school mat/rug up to 35 sq. ft.; small activity table; trash cans up to 5 gallons; personal-sized laminators.

Documentation

Itemized receipt (vendor name/address/contact, date, receipt number, itemized amounts and descriptions). Debit card receipts are uploaded by the end of the month after each quarter. From July 1, 2026, the attestation and course-of-study selection with each order.

Not allowed

Backpacks, lunch boxes and water bottles; home furnishings and fixtures; household cleaning supplies; Amazon Prime fees; gift cards.
